FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, OUR LEGACY LINE OF BATTLE® REELS HAS GONE UNMATCHED IN STRENGTH, SMOOTHNESS, AND DURABILITY.
In the third iteration of the Battle®, we outdid ourselves again, pushing the envelope on what you can expect out of a reel. Now fitted with CNC Gear™ Technology, HT-100™ Carbon Fiber Drag System, and a full metal body, the Battle® III is fluid, fast, and fierce. The Battle® III comes in a variety of sizes ranging from 1000 to 10000. Sizes 1000-5000 are equipped with a brass pinion gear and aluminum main gear. Bigger species require even more durability, so Battle® sizes 6000-10000 feature brass pinion and brass main gears. High-speed models are available in the 4000, 6000, and 8000 sizes for fishing fast-moving species like bonefish and kingfish. Whether you’re wading for flounder or trolling for tuna, outfit your rig with a reel that can handle the job.
CNC GEAR™ TECHNOLOGY:
When it comes to crafting reels, precision is key. That’s why we use state of the art software and CNC machinery to cut the Battle®’s drive and pinion gears straight from the metal. Compared to gears fashioned from molds, the Battle® is not only stronger in design but also more accurate in alignment. With true alignment comes flawless performance and a reel that can endure the most formidable of elements.

Our high-tech carbon fiber drag washers are lubricated with PENN®’s proprietary grease to ensure that your first catch reels in as smooth as your last, no matter how heavy the load. Engineered with longevity in mind, you can pull in 100 miles of line off of the reel with no wear on the washers.

SUPERLINE SPOOL:
No backing needed on this “braid-ready” reel. The Battle® comes stock with a tailored rubber gasket to keep superline from slipping.

NEW PENN® BATTALION II INSHORE ROD
We redesigned our already lightweight and sensitive Battalion™ line of rods to give inshore and surf anglers a more resilient and versatile workhorse; creating the strongest Battalion Rod to date. The Battalion™ II Inshore rod is built with our new SLC2 construction, a process that utilizes inner spiral carbon wraps and outer layers of longitudinal carbon fibers to make this generation of the Inshore lighter and stronger than its predecessor. Both the Battalion™ II Inshore and Surf models come outfitted with Fuji® Alconite Guides and a Fuji® Reel Seat. The Surf rod is also available in a uniquely fashioned Ulua model, the length and action of which are specifically designed with Ulua anglers in mind. This model features a 100% graphite blank for strength, Caxin Indestructible Guides, and a stainless steel rod butt. Pair any of these Battalion™ rods with the Battle® III—though the rods can work with a wide variety of reels—for the quintessential saltwater setup.
